Vieux Château Gaubert
At the heart of the prestigious appellation of Pessac-Léognan, Vieux Château Gaubert embodies the excellence of the renowned Bordeaux vineyards. This family estate, where each plot is cultivated with passion, produces elegant, powerful wines of great finesse. Originally from Portets, the Gaubert family made their fortune in trade and ship outfitting during the 18th century. Around 1796, the merchant Gaubert wanted to enlarge his country house and turn it into a significant wine estate. He entrusted the work to architect Gabriel Durand, a collaborator of Victor Louis, who oversaw the construction of the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux.
Its classification as a Historical Monument and its purchase by Dominique Haverlan in 1988 allowed for the preservation of this building and the restoration of the vineyard. Since 2019, the Sabouret family has joined Vieux Château Gaubert as co-owner to strengthen its commercial activity and international presence.
